An essential round-up of must know events for luxury professionals, including the Walpole Luxury Summit, London and Luxe Pack, New York

This month we recommend the 13th IESE Annual Prestige Brands Meeting in Barcelona, for those wishing to further discuss the impact and future of China as a key luxury player. Similarly at the Walpole Luxury Summit 2011 in London, the focus is fixed on the main markets for luxury in Greater China, covering the Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau.

Luxury packaging trade event, Luxe Pack New York, gives executives from the beauty, wine & sprits and fine food industries an opportunity to view the latest in packaging technology and design. And as an official partner of the 2011 FT Business of Luxury Summit, we invite you to join us in Lausanne, to explore the economic issues facing the luxury industry today.

13th IESE Annual Prestige Brands Meeting

May 10 | Barcelona

The prestige brands sector is growing globally, but its geography has changed since China has overtaken traditional markets. European companies, regardless of size, have to conquer consumers from distant markets by operating in those countries directly, and or along tourist and hubs routes. Employing the latest communication technologies and establishing suitable distribution of investments are fundamental. The industry is gaining attractiveness for investors and the race for growth can require bigger efforts, as a consequence consolidation and concentration seem unavoidable. We are therefore pleased to announce the 13th Annual Prestige Brands Meeting hosted by IESE Business School, one of Europe’s top business schools, co-organised by CEIBS, Fondazione Italia Cina and Luxury Society.

The conference will address topics of strategic importance for the European luxury industry, including prestige strategies for the wine sector, the global economic outlook and future perspectives for the prestige industry, how to attract Chinese consumers, managing an independent Italian fashion house, prestige consumption along tourist routes and perspectives for future M&A; activity. Speakers include Michele Norsa, CEO and Group Managing Director, Salvatore Ferragamo; Xavier Ybargüengoitia, President Estates & Wines, LVMH Group; Jean-Christophe Jourde, Vice President General Manager, Estée Lauder Companies Europe; Sophie Jiang, CEO, E&A; Communications, Beijing-Shanghai, Taipei and Pierre Mallevays, Founder and Managing Partner, Savigny Partners.
